Other Picture Book Resources for Grief and Baby Loss:

Possum Portraits has launched a picture book project for bereaved siblings, featuring an illustrated psychotherapeutic book, “The House in Ollie’s Tummy.” The story helps children process the loss of a baby sibling and understand the experience of grief. The resource will help parents gain insight into the cognitive abilities of children in terms of their understanding of death.

“You Could Have Been” by Ann-Maree Imrie is a children’s picture book for bereaved parents to read to their baby who died, or didn’t survive a pregnancy. It’s filled with a parent's wonder of who their child could have been if they’d had the chance to grow up. The book is written to the child, so a parent can talk to them about their lost hopes and dreams, but most importantly, their love.
